DENTURES

What is a denture?
A denture is used to replace one or more missing teeth on a removable plate.  There are serveral types:
  1. Plastic (acrylic) partial
    • A plastic partial denture fits on the gum and sometimes has wire clasps to hold it in place.
  2. Metal (cobalt-chrome) partial
    • A metal precision partial denture fits exactly with clasps and rests on existing teeth.
  3. Complete denture
    • These are to replace all the teeth on either the upper/lower or both jaws.  They are held in with suction, and made from plastic.
